Plastic Bags Are OUT!
Thursday 29th January 2009
In January 2008 Greenlife stopped accepting plastic carrier bags for recycling.
Since then we have continued to give away free degradable carrier bags to help customers who do not have a bag with them, but after a year we now feel it is time to take another step to reduce the use of carrier bags.

FROM 1st FEBRUARY 2009 WE WILL BE CHARGING 5p FOR DEGRADABLE BAGS.
To avoid this charge and support the environment would customers please ensure that when they are shopping in our Town Store they have a re-usable bag with them.

Why have we taken this decision?
Well, we are Greenlife and as a Company we strive to practice what we preach. The Greenlife isn't just about eating organic vegetables, although that is a good starting point! It is a way of life, a way of living in today's world responsibly. This means continually re-evaluating our use of resources: we already recycle as much as possible (including unwanted till receipts, glass, paper, cardboard, tetra packs, packaging etc.) but there is always more that can be done and the first thing we are looking at in 2009 is plastic carrier bags.
We will shortly be replacing the degradable bags with paper carrier for which their will also be a charge, but we would ask customers to ensure that they bring their own bags whenever possible to reduce the amount of waste even further.
If you do not yet own a re-usable bag, we have plenty for sale in store .. one of the best can be seen if you >>CLICK HERE<<
If you are in any doubt as to what type of re-usable bag to purchase .. please ask any member of staff for advice.
